Report of A Case of A Lung Abscess

Lung abscess is a suppurative process resulting in destruction of the pulmonary parenchyma and formation of a cavity containing purulent material. A three-months-old female baby was admitted to Pediatric Infectious Diseases Clinic of Ondokuz Mayıs University, Samsun, with complaints of fever, cough, and respiratory distress. As a result of clinical, laboratory and radiological examinations, the diagnosis of lung abscess was made and the treatment with the combination of meropenem, ampicillin, and clindamycine was initiated. On the 28th day of the treatment, clinical, laboratory, and radiological improvement was obtained and the patient discharged from the hospital.

Bir Akciğer Absesi Olgusu

Akciğer absesi, pulmoner parankim yıkımı ve pürülan mataryel içeren kavite oluşumu ile sonuçlanan süpüratif bir süreçtir. Üç aylık kız bebek, ateş, öksürük ve solunum sıkıntısı şikayetleri ile başvurdu ve Pediatrik Enfeksiyon Servisine yatırıldı. Klinik, laboratuvar ve radyolojik incelemeleri sonucu akciğer absesi tanısı düşünülerek; meropenem, ampisilin ve klindamisin tedavisi başlandı. Tedavinin 28. gününde klinik, laboratuvar ve radyolojik iyileşme sağlandı ve taburcu edildi.
