Abstract

Agitated saline contrast echocardiography is frequently used in the diagnosis of atrial septal defects which are one of the most common congenital heart defects in adults. We share a patient in whom only the use of agitated saline into the right vena safena magna during transthoracic echocardiography allowed the detection of a atrial septal defect that previously unseen with the use of agitated saline into the upper extremity venosus system.
