Foreign bodies of the urethra and bladder are seen with iatrogenic injury, self-insertioand, rarely, migration from adjacent sites. The most frequent complications of foreign bodies are urethritis, urethral tear with periurethral abscess and or fistula, haemorrhage, and urethral diverticuli. Fournier’s gangrene is the result of a highly lethal and rapidly progressive necrotizing infection of the perineal and genital fascia. Anorectal, genitourinary, and traumatic infections are the most common causes of Fournier’s gangrene. In this case report, we present a 57
year old patient with mental retardation who was admitted with scrotal swelling, fever, anuria and treated by emergency surgery with the diagnosis of Fournier’s Gangrene.

Mesane ve üretrada yabancı cisimler; iyatrojenik olarak, kendi kendine yerleştirmekle ve nadiren yakın bir bölgeden migrasyon sonucu görülebilir. Yabancı cisimlerin en sık komplikasyonları üretrit, periüretral abse ya da fistülle birlikte olan üretral akıntı, hemoraji ve üretral divertiküldür. Fournier gangreni; perineal ve genital fasyanın yüksek oranda öldürücü ve hızla ilerleyen nekrotizan infeksiyonudur. Anorektal, genitoüriner ve travmatik infeksiyonlar Fournier gangreninin en yaygın sebepleridir. Bu yazıda skrotal şişlik, ateş ve anüri nedeniyle başvuran ve Fournier Gangreni tanısı alarak acil ameliyata alınıp tedavi edilen 57 yaşında mental retarde bir hasta sunuldu.
